Career and technical education opens the doors to many well-respected occupations for high school students and adults, which create both family-supporting incomes and opportunities for advancement. Beginning with high school programs and extending into degrees offered by postsecondary colleges and universities, technical education requires high levels of academic knowledge and well-honed skills. Since technical positions typically require industry-recognized certification, licenses or other credentials, concentrated and well-planned coursework is offered at each level. Continued
